Eco Promotions is a dedicated site to all that is environmentally friendly within the promotional merchandise sector.
I have been working in the promotional industry for the last 6 years and in that time 'green' 'eco' 'environmentally friendly' has exploded as a category, but within it so has the amount of 'greenwashing' ~ stretching the truth somewhat as to the green credentials of a product, below is a true account of a conversation I had with a supplier at a trade show:
'Look at our eco friendly product ~ its made of wood'
Where is the wood sourced from?
'... umm dunno, does it matter?'
It's wood ~ 'being promoted as green it is obviously FSC certified'
'... FS what?'
Eco Promotions tries to cut through some of the rubbish and provide as much fact as possible, while also giving personal opinion & ratings on each product.
Each product is given a tag to highlight its green qualities and I have given as much information and opinion as is available, some product is more green than others, organic over standard cotton for example, but there are other factors, budgets, lead-times etc.. that will influence buying decisions, but even the lowest green rated product still makes a difference.
